I'm Alan Vaarwerk.

I'm editor at Kill Your Darlings, and also sometimes a writer and critic.

I was formerly editorial assistant for Readings Monthly and have worked in editorial with other companies including Text Publishing and Griffith Review.

I've delivered talks and workshops at festivals and universities, and have appeared on panels at festivals and conferences in Australia and internationally.

I grew up on Bundjalung and Gumbayngirr country in northern NSW, grew up some more in Brisbane, and now live in Melbourne.
